When did you come to Japan?

The very first time I came to Japan was in 1993. I came as an international student, then worked in Japan for a while, and later returned to Shanghai. I lived there for eight years and came back to Japan again in 2010.

What prompted you to consult us about a permanent residence visa application?

My wife, child, and I are all living together in Japan now, so I wanted to make sure we could stay in Japan stably and for the long term. That is why I consulted them.

How long did it take for the permanent residence visa application to be approved?

I was initially told that it would take about six to eight months, or up to around a year if it took longer, and it was approved in almost exactly six months.

The biggest difficulty along the way was that I did not know how to submit the certificate related to my pension, but they explained it carefully to me over the phone.

Please tell us about your goals going forward

Given my age, I do not have many concerns about what I will do from here on, but I felt that if my child had visa restrictions, it might cause uncertainty or problems in the future. That was what prompted this application, so I will be satisfied if my child can grow up with greater freedom.
