Establishing a Company in Japan and Obtaining the Business Manager Visa

Please tell us about your company’s business.

We manufacture paper products such as cardboard in China and handle them in Japan.

Why did someone who originally operated a company in China decide to establish a new company in Japan?

First, as background, sales in China had been sluggish due to the impact of COVID-19. As you know, labor costs in China are relatively low, so our company president thought we might be able to compete in the Japanese market as well. He consulted me about this, and we decided to conduct business together in Japan.

Please tell us how you found our firm when establishing the company and obtaining the Business Manager Visa.

My company’s office is located near Omiya, and when I searched for administrative scrivener offices around Omiya, your firm came up. I called right away, made an appointment, and came in for a consultation.

What was your first impression of Mr. Yuda?

I had the impression that he was a kind person. He was very friendly and did not feel stiff or formal at all. It was my first time dealing with the Business Manager Visa and I did not understand it well, but he explained everything in detail to me, even though I was a complete beginner. I am grateful for that.

Were there any difficult or troublesome points while actually proceeding with the application?

Not particularly.

Because the client cooperated with us in submitting documents and other matters, the overall process went smoothly.
This is not exactly something that was difficult, but since the applicant was originally operating a company in China, we were careful to clearly prove the stability of the business in Japan, including the scale of the company in China, what kinds of products it actually handled, and whether there was a realistic chance of success when shifting the market to Japan.

The representative will now enter Japan. Do you have any goals for the first year of the new company?

First, I think we will develop the business in Saitama.

Yes, first of all, I am very satisfied. I had heard that it would take a little less than six months for the Business Manager Visa to be approved, and in fact, it was approved in a little less than six months, so I feel that the procedures were completed without any delays.

During the long period until the visa certification was approved, Mr. Yuda responded to us properly, so we were able to wait with peace of mind. I had heard that the Tokyo Immigration Bureau currently takes about six months for examination, and there are applications submitted before this one that still have not come back, so I think the application we asked your firm to handle received a result relatively quickly. Since the first case was handled well, we are now asking your firm to proceed with a second company as well.

Because the period was long, I think I would have felt a little worried if nothing had been done during that time. Your firm contacted us frequently by email and phone each time, so we were able to wait with peace of mind.
